Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

The Explain Apologetics Team

Samuel Nesan

Samuel Nesan graduated with a Masters in Christian Studies (Seminari Theoloji Malaysia) while serving as an Associate Pastor at Pantai Baptist Church. Prior to that, he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology and a Diploma in Counselling Studies (Bible College of Malaysia). Samuel was also pursuing a Masters in Theology majoring in Christian Apologetics which he is hoping to complete soon. Samuel left his pastoral position in 2018 and went on to start and work full-time by faith in Explain Apologetics. The ministry is dedicated to equipping churches with a biblical and rational defence to effectively communicate the gospel. Samuel is a regular speaker at schools, colleges, universities, and churches across denominations. He has also participated in a plethora of interfaith dialogues and debates with proponents of Atheism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and various cults. Apart from the ministry, Samuel also enjoys Badminton and is a match commentator for Astro since 2014 having coached professional shuttlers both locally and abroad. His current goal is to lose weight and to win souls.

Mark Tan

Mark Tan serves as Pastor for Youth and College Students at First Baptist Church. Prior to that, he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology (Malaysian Baptist Theological Seminary). Mark was also pursuing a Masters in Pastoral Theology with MBTS which he is hoping to complete soon. Mark has a deep interest in Christian Apologetics which can be seen in how he disciples his Youth and College Students. Even every Ministry Intern of FBC had to undergo some hours of training in Evangelism and Apologetics with him. Mark also regularly speaks in schools, colleges, churches and cell group gatherings across denominations, usually providing an apologetic flavour to his messages and discussions. Mark is happily married to his lovely wife, Mae, who he met in Seminary in 2008. Together they face their greatest, personal Explain project of their lives so far: explaining the Gospel to their little daughter, Noelle, who was born in 2015.
